When does the comic update?
Court’s Blood updates every Monday, around midnight, or whenever Tchy is awake to put it up, which is usually at a pretty ridiculous hour of the morning.
Do you write the comic together?
We do! Well, not in the strictest sense of the word “write.” We came up with the story together and we plot out new elements as a team. Tchy takes those ideas and rough drafts and turns them into a script, which then gets handed off to Nami for the art. Nami does all the drawing and lettering, then gives it back to Tchy, who puts it on the site. It’s a joint effort. Tchy does all the actual writing, but is not the only creator of the story.
How is the comic drawn?
Nami does the sketches by hand on bristol paper, using a mechanical pencil and an assortment of fancy erasers. Then the lines are inked, the pencil is erased, and the page is scanned. The panel borders are added digitally. The colouring is done in Photoshop CS4. The speech bubbles are one hundred percent digital. All aspects of the comic page itself, from planning how the page will flow all the way to the lettering at the very end, are done by Nami. Tchy does his best to steer clear of the artistic process, as he is liable to muck it up.
Who runs the website?
That’s mostly Tchy. Writing a page of script is easier than drawing a page of comic, so Tchy tries to pick up the slack by managing most of the technical side of things. Tchy is also the one who will be reading and answering most of the emails, but Nami sees those as well.
How the fuck do you say Mhichil’s name?
It’s pronounced as “vikhil.” Weird, we know. It’s Irish Gaelic, and the spelling and transcription is a little odd in relation to most Latin and Germanic languages.
Are the twins transgender?
Not in the strictest sense of the word, but they are moderately genderqeer. They generally prefer male pronouns but they also like being called “ladies” and not “gentlemen,” and they are very much not enthused about female-assigned genitalia (on either themselves or their sexual partners). Overall, they’re cross-dressers. Drag queens. They like being pretty. And playing tricks on people.
Which twin is which?
Not telling.
